Since its conception in 1990, Upcher & Co. has been creating bespoke gardens and landscapes for numerous clients. Here are just two:

Our clients, having purchased a classical house, wanted a more informal garden.

A terrace outside the basement was created to allow access to the newly formed family room. From this point, the garden swept away to a hot house in the distance.
(Seasonal bedding accentuates this warmness)

A pathway of Purbeck stone was created to resemble a stream, the head of which terminated in a water feature which cascaded down the rocks.

Other features included a root tunnel and a fern garden.

We were fortunate to be awarded the project of designing, creating and supervising the installation of the landscaping from conception to the opening.

During this period we co-ordinated the landscaping activities with the client, the contractors Carillion plc, and the architect, Charles Morris.

We are proud BALI Award winners for our efforts relating to the design and creation of the grounds of this lovely country house.

During the years of construction, we co-ordinated our activities with the enthusiasm of the owner, the style of the architect, Charles Morris, and worked with the National Park Authority and the builders, Carillion.

The grounds of this hotel have a strong sense of classical order, with pavilions standing at the end of elegant canals. Wisteria clad pergolas and aromatic plants edge terraces of either stone or hand made bricks.

We were also involved in placing the tree and plant lighting, so designed to create the best effect.
